Well-known for its abundance of beautiful northern Thai architecture and Buddhist temples, its delicious and readily available fruit smoothies as well as proximity to the mountain tops and elephant sanctuaries, Chiang Mai is probably my favourite spot in the whole of Thailand. It’s also a wonderful space to admire street art.
I didn’t know what to expect when I arrived there. Quickly though, I found myself wandering around the city for hours as I came across street after street of cool graffiti. Scattered around in both public spots and discrete little back alleyways, it was truly a highlight of my stay.
Most artworks can be found in the Old Town, walls, parking lots, residential areas, etc. Here are some of my best spots:
