Located in Southwark at the heart of central London and in the Shard’s shadow, Borough Market is the capital’s oldest food market. In fact, it celebrated its 1,000th birthday back in 2014.
It is also the city’s largest and most popular market, particularly when it comes to gourmet food. From beautifully displayed organic fruits and veg to artisan bread, ham, cheese, cakes, oils, etc: you can find virtually anything you like.
The market is a great spot for a Saturday afternoon out, and to pick up free food samples. Cheeky tip: stroll around the market a few times, and you can leave with both your stomach and wallet full just from trying stuff. Here’s a quick Instagram roundup of the nicest food you can find:

I still remember when I just arrived to the UK 15 years ago, it was quite difficult to find at least a few, nowadays I find more & more Mexican ingredients to cook proper Mexican food at home! Love it! 💕 Happy Sunday! Buenas tardes! #boroughmarket #chillies #food #foodmarket
